Awesome Africa is a travel series aimed at people who want to travel into Africa but who don’t know how to take the first step.
Many African countries offer superb luxury safari lodges and experiences to those who have the means.
This show is not for them.
Awesome Africa is for the explorer at heart who wants to do more than just “see” Africa. Instead they want to get to” know” Africa.

From meeting the continent’s extraordinary people and experiencing a diversity of cultures and tradition, to taking in breathtaking landscapes and tasting a smorgasbord of exotic and earthy foods – Awesome Africa will NOT disappoint.
With a limited budget our intrepid show host shows the viewer where to go, who to meet and what to do in order to experience Africa face to face.
In the last decade, factual entertainment has dramatically changed from the merely informative and often didactic to the real and personal. Following on from this, one of the biggest shifts in travel programming has been to make travel more relatable to the viewer.
No longer is travel TV a series of pretty picture slapped together with a boring script that sounds more like a geography lecture than an invitation to explore, being read underneath.
Today travel TV is about the social experience, about how people relate to each other and how they live their lives. It’s also about the excitement of different cultures from across the planet meeting up and what can be learnt from each other.
And instead of just showing historical buildings – viewers want to know how that history has made the people of a place who they are today. What do their cultures say about them? Television is after all about people.
